Effective September 30, 2026
Overlord Inc ("the app", "we") is a single-developer strategy game with no backend server of our own. Everything about a run — your chosen AI type, difficulty, and progress — is generated and simulated entirely on your device.
The app offers one optional sign-in, through Google Play Games Services, described below. It is never required: the entire game is playable without signing in, and nothing is withheld from players who decline.
The following is stored in local device storage (Android PlayerPrefs). If — and only if — you sign in to Google Play Games, the first two items are also copied to your Google account as a saved game, so they survive reinstalling the app or moving to a new device:
In-run simulation state (adoption, capability points, regulation, etc.) exists only in memory while you play and is not saved between app launches in the current version.
If you choose to sign in from the Settings screen, the app uses Google Play Games Services. When signed in:
Signing in is entirely optional and can be declined or revoked at any time; you can remove the app's access from your Google account permissions page, and delete stored game data from the Google Play Games app. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own privacy policy. If you never sign in, none of the above occurs and no data leaves your device.
Overlord Inc offers two in-app purchases — unlocking a single AI type, or unlocking all remaining types plus Premium (no ads) — processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your payment information; Google's own privacy policy governs that data.
The main gameplay screen includes a reserved banner space. As of this policy's effective date, that space shows static local content only — no advertising network is integrated, no advertising identifier is read, and no ad-related data is collected or transmitted. If a live ad network (e.g. Google AdMob) is added in a future update, this policy will be updated first to disclose exactly what that network collects, before the update ships.
Overlord Inc uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Analytics records when a run starts and when it ends, along with the AI type, difficulty, starting region, outcome, number of in-game turns, and final adoption percentage — game-balance data, with nothing that identifies you. Firebase also collects standard app-usage signals such as app opens and session length, tied to a resettable app-instance identifier. On a crash, Crashlytics sends a stack trace, device model, OS version and app version — enough to fix the bug, not to identify you personally. This data is processed under Firebase's privacy terms; Overlord Inc does not use it for advertising, does not sell it, and still carries no ad SDK.
Overlord Inc requests Internet access, used solely to communicate with Google Play Billing to process purchases and — if you have signed in — with Google Play Games Services to sync your saved game. No other device permissions (location, storage, camera, contacts, etc.) are requested.
Overlord Inc is a general-audience strategy game and is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Google Play Games sign-in is optional and is subject to Google's own account age requirements.
If Overlord Inc's data practices change — most notably, if live advertising is added — this page will be updated and the effective date will change before that update ships.
